| Birth Doula Recertification Overview Your DONA International certification is good for three years, after which you will need to recertify. You may recertify as a DONA International doula with active status or inactive status. DONA International certified doulas renewing with active status are listed through our website’s online referral listing, while those on inactive status are not. If your certification expires, you will have to repeat the initial certification process. We are now asking for evaluations from mothers to include in your application for birth doula recertification. This will become effective as of March 1, 2009. Determine the recertification status you would like to achieve. Active Status
