To have membership with DONA as a group, a minimum of 5 people must join together.  Cost per year is a $50 group fee plus $25 per individual, (outside the US $30 per individual.)  If more members join the group at another time than the ongoing expiration date, the individual may join for $25 and add an additional $5.00 processing fee (making it a total of $30.00- $35.00 Outside the US.)

The group member benefits are the same as individual membership except that the new member packets are sent to the group representative and not sent to the individual’s homes.  It is the group’s responsibility to distribute the new member packets to those individuals who are new members with DONA.

 

All members joining with a group will have the same group expiration date.  If someone already has a membership with DONA and then renews through a group membership, they will assume the group expiration date even if this means less than a one-year renewal.

 

It is important to note that a requirement of certification with DONA is to have concurrent membership.  This means that CD(DONA)s who have allowed their membership to lapse and then wish to renew through a group membership will have an expiration date one year from when their last membership expired.  Therefore to join the group, you will need to pay the add-on amount:  If other members join the group at another time than ongoing expiration month, the individual may join for $25 and add an additional $5.00 processing fee (making it a total of $30.00.)  DONA approved doula trainers are now required to hold individual memberships.
