Director of Advocacy

Angela is a certified DONA International doula and has been serving birthing families since 2010. She is also a certified childbirth educator through ICEA and a Certified Lactation Counselor through the Healthy Children Project. Angela holds a Master’s of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville. She maintains a practice working with families in the Gainesville, Florida area and has had the honor of serving DONA as the Ambassador of the State of Florida since 2018.

Angela is actively involved in the birthing community, working to increase awareness and access to doulas, and improve relationships with other birth professionals, and administrators. Since moving to Florida, she has served on the North Central Florida Breastfeeding Coalition, as well as a representative for the Medicaid Outcomes Workgroup, and a founding member of the Doula Community Coalition. These groups pull together professionals to work to enhance doula services and coverage by Medicaid and increase access and awareness of the benefits of doula support.

Angela is excited to have the opportunity to further serve DONA and work with the membership to advance DONA’s Advocacy work!
