Shannon Alexander
Treasurer
My name is Shannon Alexander and I am the owner of Blessed Birth, LLC. I have assisted over 500 families in the desert Southwest.
I completed my doula training in late 2013, certified about 18 months later, and have been a DONA International member for nearly ten years. I recently received my Advanced Doula Certification.
I am currently an Ambassador-at-Large for the US West and have served as your Spirit Fund Chair for the past six years. Both roles have expanded my working knowledge of DONA International and I am eager to expand upon them.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Biology and was certified as an EMT, but the rabbit hole of life pushed my skills and attention to administrative work in my teens and twenties until getting married and having my four beautiful children in my thirties. When they became school age, I discovered my true passion in supporting families through doula work.
I have served on several volunteer boards, including the role of treasurer for a 501c3 non-profit. I love working in collaborative teams to create a vision and execute at a high level. I would greatly enjoy the opportunity to utilize my organizational and administrative skills to benefit our organization and its members in fiscally sound practices to ensure the continued success and longevity of DONA International.
